Sandblasting and coating
Rust, mill scale, old paint: degreasing won't remove those. For that we work with a partner sandblasting company and coat the parts with us straight afterwards – before flash rust can form.

Between blasting and coating, every day counts
Freshly blasted steel is bare and quickly starts rusting again in humid air. If a part sits too long after blasting, flash rust forms – and the coating adheres less well to it. That is why we plan blasting and coating as one chain with a short handover.

How we work

We look at the part, material and old coating and clarify whether blasting is needed.
- Step 02Blasting
Our partner sandblasting company removes rust, mill scale and old coating and roughens the surface.
- Step 03Pre-treatment
The parts come to us promptly, are degreased and masked where needed.
- Step 04Coating
Powder coating or wet paint, depending on what suits the part.

Good to know
- Thin-walled or previously damaged parts can deform during blasting
- On parts with joints, seams or overlaps, blasting media can become trapped and later cause blisters
- Blasted, uncoated parts must be processed further promptly – that is exactly what we arrange

Do you do the blasting yourselves?
No, the blasting is done by our partner sandblasting company. We arrange the handover and coat the parts with us straight afterwards. You have one point of contact.
Why not just degrease?
Degreasing removes oil and grease, but not rust, mill scale or old coatings. That needs blasting or pickling.
What is flash rust?
A thin film of rust that forms quickly on freshly blasted steel in humid air. That is why we coat blasted parts promptly.
