Here a speck of dust is a defect
For optical components, measuring instruments and visible surfaces, what matters is not the coating thickness but what must not be in the coating. In the cleanroom spray booth we paint in a low-particle environment – with the same wet paint technology as in our other booths.
Process
How we work
- Step 01Degreasing
Where needed, we degrease first. Our in-house vapour degreasing reaches blind holes, threads and cavities. The parts come out dry, without water marks.
- Step 02Masking
Fits, threads, sealing and functional surfaces are taped or plugged to drawing.
- Step 03Painting in the cleanroom
Primer and topcoat are applied in the low-particle spray booth, matched to material and requirements.
- Step 04Drying and inspection
Drying in air or in the oven, depending on the system. We then inspect the surface before the part leaves our premises.

Good to know
- The cleanroom is a wet paint spray booth – it is not designed for powder coating

FAQ
What customers want to know
What makes the cleanroom different from a normal paint booth?
The environment is low in particles. Dust and fibres that can land on the part as inclusions in a normal booth are largely kept out. That matters wherever a single inclusion makes the part unusable.
Can paint-free surfaces, threads and fits be left uncoated?
Yes. Masking to drawing is part of our standard scope. State in your enquiry which surfaces are functionally relevant.
Do you also coat series in the cleanroom?
Yes. For series we first coat a sample part for approval. Only then does the series run.
